modern hillside in sausalito  New house built on a steep sloping site in Sausalito overlooking San Francisco Bay with panoramic view of the city. Massive concrete foundations and retaining walls were required for the site with garage and entrance to the elevator at the street level and house itself above large concrete stepping planters. The living area of the house is placed on the top floor for best views and is almost fully open with kitchen counter cabinets recess flush into the wall and island floating on main axis. The lower floor houses bedrooms and bathrooms and is connected to main floor with a suspended open stair in oversized stairwell.

All finishes are selected for simplicity and flow throughout the entire house – light woods, charcoal grey porcelain flooring tiles, off white paints and wall tiles. The intended result is to create modern minimal, light, open space with colors and activity coming from the outside views….
